Man Food: Recipes from Pig Iron Rough Notes Magazine, 1928-1950

Karen Utz, Curator/Historian Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark

March 5   10 a.m.      Auditorium

In November, 1926 Sloss Furnaces started a small monthly publication known as Pig Iron Rough Notes.   Russell Hunt, the editor, realizing the passion foundrymen had for the “great outdoors,” encouraged his readers to submit their hunting and fishing experiences, as well as the recipes that resulted from these outdoor activities.    This PowerPoint presentation will include lots of fun and unique recipes.
