Bob Friedman, project director for the Birmingham Black Radio Museum, will use an imaginative mix of sounds, visuals and his own commentary to bring to life the story of the deejays and stations that contributed to the life and culture of The Magic City. September Family Movie Night

Please join us on Monday, September 8th at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium. In the Lego universe, the wizard Vitruvius attempts to protect a super-weapon called the "Kragle" from the evil Lord Business. He fails to do so, but prophesies that a person called "the Special" will find the Piece of Resistance capable of stopping the Kragle. Free admission.

German POW Camp World War II, Aliceville, Alabama

Please join us on Thursday, September 4th from 10 - 11 a.m. for a program on the German POW Camp during World War II in Aliceville, Alabama presented by John Gillum, Executive Director of the Aliceville POW Museum. Find out about a little known piece of American history as Mr. Gillum talks about the origins of POW camps in the U.S. during WWII, and the various groups comprising the prisoners. In particular, he will discuss the history of the Aliceville POW Camp and share camp stories.

A light meal and some heavy knowledge will be dished out at this one-hour event. Designed to provide valuable information to all adults and older youth. Topics covered will include banking, credit, financial management and budgeting, ID theft, home ownership and renting as well as small business finance. Registration is required. August Family Movie Night

Please join us on Monday, August 11th at 5:30 p.m. for Family Movie Night. Lovable Sulley and his wisecracking sidekick Mike are the top scare team at Monsters, Inc., the scream-processing factory in Monstropolis. When a little girl named Boo wanders into their world, it's the monsters who are scared silly, and it's up to Sulley and Mike to keep her out of sight and get her back home. Free admission.
