February Family Movie Night
Please join us on Monday, February, 24th at 5:30 p.m.
A secret laboratory near the Arctic Circle is stolen by
a mysterious vehicle using a giant magnet. The Anti-Villain
League (AVL) recruits former super-villain Gru, now a devoted
father to Margo, Edith and Agnes, to find out which evil
person stole the lab. Free admission.
Pillars of Excellence in Black History
Please join us on Thursday, February 6th at 10 a.m. to recognize
Pillars of Excellence in Black History. This year's Black History
Month Celebration, with participation of the Southside Homes Unit
of the A.G. Gaston Boys & Girls Club of America, will recognize
six Bessemer civic leaders who represent excellence in our
community based on: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility,
Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.
Alabama Civil Rights: 50 Years Later Photography Display
During the month of February, in commemoration of Black History month, the
Bessemer Library will be exhibiting a series of photographic images of
"Alabama Civil Rights: 50 Years Later" by Birmingham photographer D.J. Boyd.
The pictures, which include significant Civil Rights landmarks,
will be displayed on the upper level of the library.

for Family Movie Night. Monsters generate their city's
power by scaring children, but they are terribly afraid
themselves of being contaminated by children, so when one
enters Monstropolis, top scarer Sulley finds his world
disrupted. Free admission.
